From the Portland Mercury comes “ZOMBIE LIKE ME
Does Portland Discriminate Against the Undead? To Find Out, I Walked a Mile in a Zombie’s Shoes”:
“Hawthorne, I’m happy to inform you, turns out to be amazingly zombie tolerant.”
Which would be completely obvious to anyone who spends time during the week on Hawthorne. Unlike the author of the unamusing article, who had to put on makeup to obtain his zombie like appearance, the “zombies” on Hawthorne look that way all the time. This is the result ( I would guess) of a combination of factors: a lack of good hygene, drug and alcohol abuse, mental illness, hunger, sleep depravation, etc. Many fewer people bother to interact with the real “zombies” on Hawthorne than interacted with Lance Chess during his performance.
Hey I have an idea! Lance could spend a week in the shoes of a homeless person and write an article about that. I bet that would make for good photo-ops.
